Aged to perfection

In honor of Kathy's 50th birthday we spent the weekend at the coast. In typical Oregon Coast fashion, the rain fell and the wind occasionally blew, but that didn't keep us from having a wonderful time and celebrating Kathy's golden milestone. I'm not sure how many times Ashley sang her favorite grandma 'happy birthday', but I'm guessing it was somewhere around 30! It was good to see Lindsay, Shaun and Angie and have the opportunity to wiggle our toes in the sand and enjoy the sunshine, even if it was the Oregon liquid variety!
Happy 50th birthday, Kathy! Did you know my first Enos Family Overnighter was for your 41st birthday 9 years ago to the beach condo? Man how far we've all come!

Ashley-dote

While Natty Kat was busy eating an ENTIRE pumpkin pancake (seriously, does she have a hollow leg or what?), Ashley was doing 'Little Piggies' with her Nana. When she got to the last piggie, she added her own twist and said "This one missed church!" instead of the traditional "wee, wee, wee, wee all the way home!"
Oh my gosh! I just love her imagination!

Bumming at the beach

A few weeks back we spent the afternoon bumming it at the beach. It was a rare Oregon day at the beach where the sun was shining, the sky was blue AND there wasn't even so much as a breeze. Amazing!

Beach fun in Bellingham

Shaun and Lindsay live in such an awesome place up in Washington. During our trip up there last month we spent one morning at the lake by their house and had a blast!

I'm running a few weeks behind; my goal for this week is to get the blog up-to-date with stories and pictures.
A few weeks back Shawna was in town for her friends wedding, which meant she'd be staying with us. We *LOVE* having Shawna here! Every morning Ashley would scurry down the stairs and wait anxiously for Shawna to come crawling out of bed, and if she felt she was being made to wait too long, she'd stand outside Shawna's room and pound on her door. What a way to start the day, huh? And it's always the same; the morning after Shawna leaves Ashley pounds on the door to her room and calls "Aunt Shawna?! You there? Come on!" Then I have to open the door, and Ashley searches all over the room for her, still yelling "Shawna? Shawna? You there?!" If it didn't break my heart, I'd think it was cute!
