Does she ever hold still?

That's an easy one....NO!
To say Ashley is active is an understatement. She's never once considered the phrase "stop and smell the roses". Life's too short. There's too much to see, do, touch and feel. If she sits still, even for 1 minute, she might miss something and that's just unacceptable!
We may have our work cut out for us if EB2 takes after her older sister...

Helping Mommy do the laundry (don't worry, these are from the clean pile)
Because tracing my hand and foot isn't fun, I'm going to figure out how to trace my squishy little tushy
Leave me alone - I'm creating a masterpiece
Hey look, it's baby Zach
Stealing Zach's toy ball
Up for some duck, duck, goose, Zach?
Baby sandwich
Pucker up, Zach (but you can keep your tongue to yourself since Daddy is watching us)

Shop monkey

If Jake's in the shop, you can bet Ashley isn't far behind. She loves running around, playing with all the tools, riding on the creepers and basically getting into things. Last week when Jake and Chris were hanging OSB boards, she was right there in the thick of it, making sure things got done right.

Every job needs a Super, I even bring my own chair. Now if I just had a shovel to lean on...
Quality control...I give your work 1 belly slap followed by 1 bellybutton poke

So you wanto to whip up a batch...

...of How to Make Her Smile? It's pretty easy. Here's what you need............

Add 1 tsp of Getting Caught Where I Shouldn't Be
Fold in 2 scoops...
...of Mowing the Lawn
Combine 1 part Swinging High...
...make that 2 parts (for added sweetness)
Plus a pinch of Under-Doggies
Mix in 1 giant helping of Hanging Out With Mommy
And voila, your recipe is complete

WARNING: over consumption of How to Make Her Smile is known to cause extreme bouts of happiness, delight, enjoyment and all around giddiness. As you prepare this recipe you may find yourself smiling and laughing to the point of cheek pain, side cramps and shortness of breath. As with all recipes, moderation is recommended but highly unlikely. Be careful as it's very difficult to leave after just one helping.

Sight for sore eyes

This week both Nana and Uncle Mike (THE Godfather) underwent surgery to remove cataracts. I'm happy to report that they're both doing well after surgery and are expected to make full recoveries. Uncle Mike was even okayed to resume playing softball - yippie!!
We love you both very much!

Hollywood walk of fame

There's no denying Ashley is our little shining star, but last week Nana and Grandpa immortalized her star status by creating her very own Hollywood star.
Well technically it's not a star, more like a stepping stone. And since we're in the business of being honest, it's not in Hollywood but Philomath. Which is almost as glamorous...

Eww it's sort of squishy 'tween my toes
Gotta push hard to make it last
Ta da! Isn't it beautiful?

Take me out to the ball game

Jake's Excavation co-ed city league softball is still going strong! We've won a few, we've lost a few and we've wanted nothing more to pummel players on opposing teams. But through it all, we've had lots of fun and made endless memories!
Keep up the good work, team. You look GOOD!

Thanks for bringing your game face, Isaiah
Wow Uncle Mike - talk about a compact car Power hitter! The preggo cruising home for the first point of the game Hit me high, man Show us how it's done, Shaun Such strength! Such form! Going for the grand slam Best catcher in the league What do I like most about softball games? Running around and getting d.i.r.t.y!

It's a Ray-a-Thon

Ray-A-Palooza continued Sunday with a BBQ at our house where Ray got to meet more family and friends. He took it like a champ smiling and shaking hands through the endless introductions.
We're so glad we could host an afternoon game of Getting To Know Ray!

Cousins Taylor and Kole reading to me
I had so much fun playing with my cousins
A genuine Aunt Marsha original - isn't it beautiful?
Even I couldn't coax a smile out of Ray...
