Sometimes I see pictures of the girls and I have to do a double-take to figure out who's-who. The most recent pictures that had me thinking are these two: Ashley - 15 months Natalie - 14 months They're certainly not twinners, but there's no doubt they're sisters (and they're Jake's daughters!).
I attended (well attempted to attend) the Get Motivated Seminar yesterday. I will just say that you get what you pay for, and leave it at that. Going into the day I told Jake "All I want is for 1 thing to resonate with me, and I'll be happy." Turns out I got my wish, and I wanted to share this with everyone: Don't let your children walk around with a hole in their heart where your acceptance and love should be. Regardless of the success of the seminar, that is a fantastic reminder and something we ALL can learn from.
What? Why? Why? What? Seems Ashley has need to ask these types of questions on an hourly basis. She wants to know EVERYTHING. She can't go into a store without asking "Why is she doing that?" or "Why is he buying that?". She's such a socialite and even asks people their names. If someone is kind enough to hold open a door for us she'll say "Thank you. My name is Ashley Louise Enos. What is yours?" And if they feel so inclined to play her game she'll say "Hi ___. Why are you going to the store?" The word I would use to describe Ashley: inquisitive. I've mentioned this before, but I just have to ask again: is Natalie part monkey? I swear to you there isn't anything she won't climb. She *loves* to climb onto the coffee table and then jump/fly/launch herself onto the couch. Normally she'll squeal as she flies through the air and then gives a loud OOPMF when she lands. It's hard not to laugh at the sites and sounds, but that only encourages her. Her climbing has gotten so bad that I had to remove the bar stools because she was getting up onto the kitchen counter. Not an evening goes by where she isn't on the dining room table at least once. I've been praying for WEEKS that this phase will soon pass, but for some reason God isn't listening to me! The word I would use to describe Natalie: temerarious.
Hanging out in Daddy & Mommy's bed, watching You Tube
The other morning I flashed back to Ashley at 8 months old doing this to our DVD collection: When I walked into Ashley's room and found Ash (now 3 years) and Natty (15 months) doing this to their massive (and continually growing) book collection: How lucky am I?
...Ashley loves Wyatt! She wouldn't leave me alone, so I had to cut a deal with her: Mommy gets to hold him for 3 more minutes and then YOU can hold him! Sheesh.
What does she say every.single.time she sees Wyatt? "Aw. He's so cute!" Aaaadorable When I see these pictures, I'm reminded of a shot taken when Natty was just 24 hours old. Ashely was (and is!) such a proud big sister! A rare moment where I was holding Wyatt and Ashley wasn't grilling me to hold him herself :)
Natalie's tube surgery has been scheduled for March 25! I'm a mix of excitement and apprehension. Prayers for a safe procedure, quick recovery and guidance for the performing physician. Oh, and that she finally starts sleeping like a kiddo her age should (11 to 13 hours without waking up).
We met in 2001 and became husband and wife just 3 years later. Owners of Irate Diesel Performance, Jake is busy building a successful business and Riane is a proud Stay-At-Home Mom. Ashley kicked off our Triple Crown in December 2007. Natalie became our second in the series in December 2009. And Keely became our third jewel in the crown in September 2012. We're living the dream, surrounded by craziness and love.
