Baby making

Well I guess at this point the making has been done and now we're onto baby growing.
And boy (or girl!) is this baby growing!
I am sitting comfortably at 13 weeks preggo and am happy to announce I still do not require any special clothing. One of the many perks of being tall is plenty of torso to hide a baby in.
Speaking of being tall, at my appointment this morning I measured up to 5'7.25'' inches. This absolutely cannot be correct as we ALL know I'm a full 5'7.75'' inches. I never made it to 5'8'', but darn I was close. 1/4'' away; NOT 3/4''. I'd better have them check me again at my next appointment. Accuracy first.
Other things we learned at my appointment were my weight (as if I'd actually share that here), my blood pressure (low and healthy thankyouverymuch) and Thirdling's heartbeat (strong at 150/160 bpm).
I absolutely cannot stress enough how incredible it is to hear your child's heart beating away. *Every*single*time* we've heard our baby's heartbeat on the Doppler, it's impossible not to smile and just be grateful to God for the blessing you've been given. Even Jake was Sir Grins-a-lot as we heard the steady swooshing of Thirdlings little ticker pumping away.
One thing I was informed of today was the new Gestational Diabetes (GD) testing standards. Used to be every woman would undergo a 1 hour test (drink glucose, blood draw, wait 1 hour, second blood draw); if you failed then you'd have to head back for a 3 hour test, which required even more poking. Apparently this is the old school method of GD testing. These days it's a 2 hour test for everyone and you either pass or fail. This means you drink glucose, blood draw, wait 1 hour, second blood draw, wait 1 hour, THIRD blood draw.
And just in case you missed that, that's THREE blood draws.
I told the doc today while I wouldn't outright refuse the test, I was likely going to be crabby and irritable. Of course I'm still months away from the test, which only gives me more time to dwell and stew on it.
Three blood draws. Hmpf.
And last but not least, I learned today that not only do I have a sinus infection, but also the beginnings of an ear infection.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa??
Wonder if Natty will let me borrow her tubes?
I've been set up with a 10-day dose of antibiotics and am hopeful their goodness with kick in soon. I can handle a lot, but the constant headache and pressure is about to do me in.
All-in-all today's appointment was a success. Jake even managed to get me giggling during my blood draw (normal, routine pregnancy panel screen). Not the best given there was a giant needle sticking out of my arm, but nice nonetheless considering there was a giant needle sticking out of my arm.
Let the baby growing commence!
