A new family pet

If you were in our house last night between 10:15 and 11:45 you would have guessed we got a new family pet.
A grouchy, barking seal.
Because what family doesn't want I seal?
I'll tell you which one doesn't want one: THIS FAMILY.
Poor Natty Kat woke up barking and it seemed no amount of cool night air or nebulizer treatments was going to calm it. Between her coughs, tears and complaints of her tummy hurting (a common complaint in small children experiencing asthma symptoms), I wondered were the night was taking us. Thankfully around 11:45 she seemed to finally calm down or else I'm not sure what would have happened.
So the coughing subsided (for the most part), but then we were left with a whole other barrel of monkeys: a 3 year old hopped up on albuterol.
If you've never experienced this joy, consider yourself lucky.
It was sometime around 12:45 when I finally got her to lay still on the couch and even closer to 1:15 before she fell asleep. And me? Well let's just say 4 hours of sleep is much harder on my 32 year old body than it was back in the diz-ay.
I've already scheduled an appointment to see a pediatrician later this morning. I imagine an oral steroid is in our future.
Because Natalie strung out on roids is a party everyone should experience.
Oh Natty Kat. What will we ever do with you?

A sight that will make any heart ache
It seems cuddles with Daddy (and Caillou on Netflix) will make even the sickest of sickies better - even at midnight
Our poor Spunk pale, tired and strung out on meds
