First grader!

And so it is....
This morning Ash walked into school just like it was any other day. She cruised down the hallway, put her $20 on her lunch tab for milk, greeted classmates, friends, workers, parents and stepped right into her new classroom as if she'd been doing it all her life.
This morning Ashley sat down at her little tiny desk, with her little tiny chair and her perfect little name tag and started right in coloring and chatting with friends.
This morning Ashley started first grade.
And ever since then my heart has been breaking.

PS Check out that awesome jacket (from Grandma!), which Ash calls her Michael Jackson jacket (which makes Mama proud!)

In addition to her hairdo (Mickey Mouse ears!), Ash also picked out her dress for her first day (a cute one she got while shopping with Grandma)

Gotta get those snuggles in before she's gone for 7 hours and 5 minutes

Natty Kat wanted to help out by carrying sister's backpack 

Ash was excited to meet Ms. George and present her with the 2 roses she handpicked from our flowerbed 

It wasn't long before Ash was tucked into her own little desk, getting to work.......Man I'm gonna miss that toothless grin!

Natty Kat was eager to see Ashley's classroom and was beyond thrilled to help Ash color her page. This is easily my favorite pic of the day; the way Ash has her hand so easily, yet protectively, on Natty Kat's back makes my heart glad.
