Hitting the runway

Back in June I had the chance to spend the afternoon with my sisters and a few other crazy ladies and support Mom as she cruised the runway at the Shrine Fashion Show. Looking back now it sure was easy; Keely was happy just sitting on her blanket with a few toys to keep her entertained.
Try this same fashion show today and it'd be a *total* disaster.
Good work, Mom. You sure did work that catwalk!

Picture time with Auntie A
Future's so bright!
Life's easy when all you need is a toy to gnaw on
Now appearing in stripes, Mom!
Wasn't long until Keely became an accessory

Rrrrrrrrrace time!

Back in June it was NHRDA (National Hot Rod Diesel Association) track day which meant lost of diesel noise and speed.
I can still close my eyes and hear it now; music to my ears.
Irate Diesel Performance hosted a BBQ between race passes. Jake's got a buddy named Matt who works for Full Force Diesel back in Tennessee, and for the second year in a row he flew out for the festivities. You never quite know what to expect when those two hooligans get together. There's constant bantering, shop talk and joking.
There's also tuning and re-tuning and tuning just one more time.
Seemed they should have maybe given just one more round of tuning because during Jake's 2nd or 3rd pass my phone rang just as he pulled off the track: seems Mister Irate himself needed a tow.
Diagnosis?
Too much power!
Only a problem if you make it a problem.
The day didn't end in the manner we had hoped it would, but Jake had fun racing and hanging out with friends, near and far. Thanks to everyone that came out and helped cheer Jake on. Thanks for sporting your IDP threads. And thanks for making IDP feel your love and support.
Oh, and only a few more months until NHRDA 2014. Jake and Matt, I expect great things from you this year.

Lots of thanks to Matt for being our Grill Master on the wee-man BBQ
Tossing some corn with custom IDP beanbags - so excited for next year when we'll have custom corn toss boards to match! Thanks in advance, Brandon (in white shirt), for those!
Not sure what's up here, but I'd say Kim is giving Jake a 'what-for'
After the races it was pulling time - Go Jeff, go!

Kinder pic

I now present Ashley's kinder picture - as cute as she can be!

The graduate

Hard to believe the first party I ever attended for Jackson was his 8th birthday celebration, and now he's rocking his cap and gown! Back in June we had the chance to party with the latest and greatest high school grad. Congrats, Jackson! You sure have grown up from the little guy I first met all those years ago.

Even Daisy got in on the fun

It's always fun when Aunt Katie and Jamie are around

Love how these 2 sort of match
Cousins!
Where's Ash? Cuddling with Daisy or course.
Three cheers for Mickey Mouse cartoons on TV
Getting a snuggle in while I can
This gal loves her cousin
No matter how hard I tried....
...they just didn't want to give up a good shot
Thanks for a great party, Jean!

A day with the circus

Back in May we celebrated Ashley's last day of school by starting out the morning watching the circus raise the big tent right here in our very own town, and we ended the day by taming the circus.
Otherwise known as 5 year old preschoolers 'graduating' and celebrating, together.
It was a fun-filled, albeit exhausting, day!

We got to meet up with the girls besties and watch the fun unfold
Heave ho!
Quite the gathering
You know you live in Small Town, USA when your entire elementary school, including staff, and even some parents, all fit on a small stand of bleachers
Circus monkeys, perhaps?
Keely kuddle
Because I walked over with my girls and not the school, we got to sneak behind the scenes after the others left and see some of the top performers up close...
...and personal
Later that day it was off to Ashley's graduation ceremony - Keely could have doubled as one of those Snow Baby figurines
Ashley's impressive new trick
Proud parents
Natty couldn't just stand by and watch big sister perform without her
Not knowing the songs or movements never stops Natty Kat
A very special gift for a very special teacher

Enos-family fun

In June we had the chance to visit Lorraine and meet some of her family that was up from Grants Pass. The weather was great and the lighting perfect, so I tortured my girls and forced them to hold still while I captured some shots. After that I turned my torturing tactics to the adults and managed to get a few good pictures of them as well.
One thing about it, I usually always win when it comes to pictures. :)

Ash and her cousin made a daisy headpiece - hello 1977!

The whole group - some happy to pose for pictures, others forced. Doesn't matter to me. As long as you're in the picture, I'm happy.
