This year we treated ourselves to a zoo pass which meant we could go just about anytime we wanted. It's a great place for the girls to get out and walk around, see the animals and just have an enjoyable afternoon.
Back in August, with nothing better to do, I loaded up the crew, Jake and Shawna and spent the day with our favorite furry (and slippery) animals.
Let's hope we get a few more decent days this fall/winter so we can get one more trip in.

Our first trip to the zoo of the season at the orangutan was picking his nose - now every trip the girls feverishly search out that giant, orange, hairy goon to see if he's at it again

Note to self....never, under ANY circumstance, argue with Ashley when she shares some random, Jeopardy-like tidbit because chances are very good she's absolutely right. Shawna and I learned this the hard way when Ash pointed out the Macaroni Penguin and we thought she was making it up. As we exited the penguin exhibit we saw a list of the different species of penguins and I'll be danged if Macaroni Penguin wasn't listed.
