Viva Las Vegas

A few weeks back Jake and I had the opportunity to take a vacay to Sin City. Many thanks to Mom, Dad, Kathy, Danny and Sissie for making sure our girls always had adult supervision so Jake and I could get away for a few days.
For the first time ever I left my camera at home and relied solely on my celly camera. I felt downright goofy at times, but I admit I didn't miss having to lug that thing around!
We had a great time visiting Sam and Jennifer and cruising through SEMA. Jake also had the chance to meet a few guys he's being doing IDP business with for a few years. Well, long enough that these guys are more friends than business associates.
Here's the pictures I took during our trip; there's too many to put in chronological order so be prepared to hop all around. :)

Dinner at Hot n' Juicy with Sam, Jennifer and Jason from Motovicity - nothing says classy like plastic bibs and gloves!
Crawfish - hadn't had one of those since I was a little girl. And after taking a bite, I remembered why. Ick.
Down the hatch!
At Hot n' Juicy they deliver your dinner (crawfish, crab leg, lobster, etc) in a plastic bag and it's up to you to either dump it on the table to share, or keep to yourself. Basically it was totally acceptable to make a HUGE mess, lick your fingers and play with your food. It.was.awesome.
Paris - Vegas style
Just one of many Ferrari's at SEMA
Yeah. That happened.
Day 1 at SEMA - these boys were excited
Jake getting ready to test-drive a new welder
Sam hard at work on the plasma cutter
Found these 'earrings' for Mom - they're just about her size
When we checked into our room at the MGM Grand, the gal behind the desk surprised us with tickets to their Cirque de Soleil show, Ka. She said "I've had these tickets all day just waiting for 2 people to give them to and you both have such great personalities and are so fun that I pick you!" AMAZING! Here we are with the dragon just outside the theatre.
More view of the dragon, and Jake with freaky eyes
Daytime view from our room - that's New York New York across the way. We had a great view of their roller coaster.
View up the strip from our room
The Master Card booth at SEMA hired 3 different artists to compete in a car-hood painting competition. Basically these guys worked on their hoods the entire SEMA show and then names would be drawn and the winners would get the take the hoods home. It was pretty cool watching them work.
Close-up of my favorite. Too bad we didn't win. Would have looked sick in the IDP shop!
How come our FedEx truck isn't this awesome?
Just some random guy pin-striping - such amazing talent
Now THAT'S a turbo!
Celebrity siting - Chip Foose from Overhaulin'
Panoramic of one of the halls of SEMA - nothing but booths and people
Congrats to our friends at Motovicity for being awarded Warehouse Distributor of the Year!
Such a pretty trophy!
We even got to hang with Martin a few times!
Nighttime view as we head into New York New York
My favorite bar in New York New York - just inside those green doors is a dueling piano bar
Having a drink with Sam and Jennifer before we head off to Hot n' Juicy
The same Hot n' Juicy Man vs Food was filmed at
Waiting for our table
Oyster shooters...I passed
Oyster cheers!

Rocking my bib
Sam getting prepped and ready
Selfies before dinnertime
Amazing bar inside The Cosmopolitan - those are all Swarovski crystals
Wicked Spoon - giant buffet at The Cosmopolitan
Individual baskets of fried chicken
Bangers and mash, single serve! That red stuff was some incredible fresh fruit juice called Wicked Juice. Also chocolate dipped strawberries finished in either crunched up Oreo or Heath Bar.
Bite-sized cakes and sweets
Cheese cakes galore!
More strawberries, pistachio something, cheesecake and pumpkin cheesecake (that was laced with nuts so I spent 15 minutes scratching and turning puffy and red)
Bikers bar
Cruising down the strip before we head home
Here's what happens when you ask Sam to take a picture
Love him!
Sam, Jake and Martin
Only missing Isaiah
Had a great time with this guy
View from the window as we landed in Vegas
Our hotel - our room was just over the second E in Copperfield
Checking out the bikes at SEMA
Jake and Jason - a deadly combination
Headed to the airport, Martin loaded me down with Tao glow sticks
Celebrity siting - whats-his-face from that car-build-show :)
In the shuttle on our way to SEMA for the first time
You see just about everything in Vegas
Good looking turbo!
Lunchtime at some pub in the MGM Grand - super tasty!
When I asked about the "We'll reduce your spool time" add on their board (at the pub), the gal that was responsible for it really didn't know what she wrote it or what it would mean. Amateur.
Buddies
33 ounce beer.....that happened TWICE
Funny add at the pub
The Flamingo - this ones for Dad
Litte White Wedding Chapel
History lesson....back in the day, when casinos would discontinue chips, they'd throw them into the concrete on new casino construction. The part of the concrete that had the chips in it would be placed in the part of the building that the casino-goers would pass by. This was considered good luck. As the original casinos are being torn down (so sad!) and the foundations destroyed. chunks of these chip-filled concrete sections are being found and sold as museum pieces. Pretty cool.
At the airport, Vegas bound. Jake looks *thrilled*
Awesome sunset from the plane on the flight home
Backyard at Sam and Jennifer's house
Our host and chauffeur for the week - thanks Sam!
Home! So excited to see this tiny person....
...and this midget in the car!
