There really is nothing better than a sunny spring afternoon. So while Jake loaded up equipment for work today, Ashley and I hung out and helped where we could. Although I think our definition of helping differs greatly from Jake's....

How is it...

That even though Ashley has been cranky, irritable and a downright terror most of the day that she can still laugh, stick her finger up her nose or smile and melt our hearts? I swear it's like she knows she's testing our patience!

Or at least here comes all the presents! Saturday afternoon I had the honor of tri-hosting bride-to-be Lindsay's bridal shower, 'Grant Me Love', with my 2 other sister-in-laws Katie and Angie. I think the best way to tell the story of the afternoon is in pictures...

A trip to the carnival

Friday night we took Ashley to the Amity Elementary School carnival where she got to pet animals in the petting zoo and play all sorts of carnival games. There is no doubt in our minds that our little social butterfly had a wonderful time!

Poor little Rashley

Someone somewhere is having fun at our expense, and when I find out who it is.....
Yesterday morning Ashley woke up with a crazy, random rash. It didn't seem to be bothering her, and rashes are so hard to diagnosis anyhow, so my plan was a dose of Benadryl and a watchful eye. 30 minutes after the Benadryl the rash spread like wildfire all over her upper torso and began creeping out onto her arms, plus I noticed little welts forming. I called our pediatricians office and they had an opening in 45 minutes, so I packed us both up and in we went. We were in an out in 30 minutes (have I mentioned before how awesome our pediatrician's office is?!) with the official diagnosis of something viral. Not very helpful in future prevention or current treatment, that's for sure! Luckily she's not contagious, and even though it could get worse in the next 24 to 36 hours, it doesn't really bother her. In all honesty it looks a lot worse than it actually is.
So there you have it. Rashley strikes again!

Gets me every time

Sorting through some older pictures I came across these two taken back over Labor Day at Angie's house in LaPine. It was chilly at nighttime and Ashley was sleeping in the laundry room, so in an attempt to keep her warm we wrapped her up in this handmade sleeper. Quick little history on the sleeper: it was a shower gift to my mom when she was preggo with me (just 28 years ago!). Anyhow...I remember Ashley waking up in the middle of the night for whatever reason, and when we grabbed her from her bed and brought her into our room, you could tell she wasn't pleased. At all. I took one look at her and lost it in a fit of giggles. Not exactly the best for trying to get your cranky 9 month old back to bed. Fast forward 8 months and I still lose it when I see these pictures of her!

Even though Thanksgiving is still months away, here in the Enos household we can't help but be excited. Not for the usual turkey and stuffing and mashed taters, but because this year we'll be days away from welcoming another wee-one. That's right, folks. Riane is pregnant with their very own little turkey, due to make his/her debut November 30th! This newbie also means we'll be joining a new club: 2 Under 2. Can you feel the excitement and nervousness in the air?!

Yesterday Jackson let us help him celebrate his 15th birthday with dinner and dessert at Claim Jumpers. To think that the first party of Jackson's I attended was his 8th birthday and now he's getting geared up for his learners permit test! Why oh why does time have to travel so quickly?
