The last few years I've tried to make a St Nicholas Day tradition; unveiling of the yearly Christmas ornament. Every year each person gets an ornament that signifies something that happened during the current year. My parents started the tradition when I was a little girl, and my mom's parent's did it with her and her sisters. It's a fun way to prompt story-telling when we're decorating the Christmas tree.
This year Midget and Spunky's ornaments are little sock monkeys since that's what they were for Halloween. I hope one day when the girls are all grown up and decorating their own tree that they'll smile, laugh and reminisce as they work through their ornaments just like I've had the pleasure of doing. I love family traditions!
