Making Christmas memories

Today I loaded up my girls and took them out to make some Christmas memories. It's such a special time of year that comes and goes so quickly, and I want to let them experience as much as they can.
Ashley is really into all things Christmas, so when I asked her this morning if she wanted to go and see a big Christmas tree and a train, she could hardly contain herself. The Capital always does such a lovely job decorating the Rotunda, and even though I knew visiting without a second set of adult hands was going to be tough, I didn't care. I'd rather make crazy memories of trying to corral both girls then no memories at all.
After The Capital I decided to surprise them with a trip to Salem's Waterfront Carousel. This time of year they bring out the special Christmas carousel horses and play festive music. Ashley was so excited when we pulled into the parking lot that she literally could not hold still. It wasn't seconds before Natalie started to feed off of Ashley's excitement and before long they were both wired! Maintaining both minis was not an easy task, but their total joy and happiness made any frustrating moments (like when Natalie stuck her hand in the toilet bowl) disappear.
There is nothing like enjoying Christmas through the eyes of a child!

Maybe one day these little sweeties will sit in the chairs behind them - The Oregon House Of Representatives
Magnificent Christmas tree (a wedding is taking place in front of the Christmas tree)
Watching the choo-choo train race around the Christmas tree
Mommy and her girls (the folks to the right are getting married (not the same ones in the picture above - busy day for weddings!)!)
The Rotunda
"Mommy, I can push the button to make the choo choo go fast, okay?"
"Mommy, sister and me have picture in front of big horse with wagon, please? Mommy, Natty Kat won't hold still." (as Natalie takes off down the street)
"Horseeeeeees Mommy!"
Everybody say CHEESE!
Natalie wasn't willing to sit on her own horse, so she hopped on the back of Ashley's
